Frequently asked questions

The most common questions from parents about our Polish-Italian preschool in Kabaty. If something is missing, call us: +48 606 125 126.

From what age do you accept children?

We accept children aged 2.5 to 6. The youngest children join the youngest of our three groups, which has a maximum of 15 children — so each child gets real attention from the teacher from day one.

What are the opening hours?

We are open Monday to Friday, 7:30–17:30. We are closed on Polish public holidays.

Are there places available? When is enrolment?

Enrolment is open all year round — there is no single deadline after which the doors close. We admit children as places become available in each age group, so the best thing is simply to call and ask about the current situation: +48 606 125 126. You are also welcome at our open days, which we announce on Facebook and on our Google Business Profile.

Where exactly are you and how do I get there?

ul. Ekologiczna 4, 02-798 Warsaw — in the heart of Kabaty in the Ursynów district, a two-minute walk from Kabaty metro station (line M1).

How does settling in work?

Settling in follows the child’s pace, not the calendar. For the first few days a parent stays with the child in the room, then the time apart is gradually extended. Throughout this period we stay in close contact with parents — we talk not only about what happens at preschool, but also about what you notice at home.

What is the Reggio Emilia approach?

It is an approach in which the child is an active explorer and the teacher accompanies them in discovering the world instead of handing out ready-made answers. We do not give grades or tests — we use observation and pedagogical documentation, which show the child’s real development. An important element is the atelier: a separate studio with natural materials where children express their thoughts and emotions through drawing, clay, light and construction.

Do children really learn Italian, or is it just an extra?

Italian is present throughout the day — at mealtimes, in play, in songs and in Italian traditions — not just in a separate lesson once a week. On top of that there is daily English with our English teacher. Children do not “learn the language” in the school sense; they absorb it the same way they absorb Polish.

Does my child need to know Italian or English before joining?

No. Most children start with us without any knowledge of either language, and that is a perfectly natural starting point.

What about meals, allergies and special diets?

We cook on site in our own kitchen, in the spirit of Mediterranean cuisine — a seasonal menu with fresh vegetables and fruit. Special diets and allergies are handled individually; please let us know about them when enrolling.

Can we visit the preschool before enrolling?

Yes, and we warmly encourage it — photos cannot capture the atmosphere of the place. You can book a visit by phone at +48 606 125 126 or by email at kontakt@piccoli.pl.

How many children are there in a group?

A maximum of 15. We have three age groups and 400 m² of space, so even when we are full the children have plenty of room.

Is the preschool bilingual or trilingual?

Three languages are present every day: Polish, Italian and English. Polish is the language of everyday communication, Italian comes from our identity and traditions, and English is taught by our English teacher.
